East Lothian Information

East Lothian is a rural county, with many golf courses and a large number of farming communities.

Although golf is a favourite pastime, there are many other outdoor activities; walking, horse-riding, wind-surfing, sailing, dog walking and so on.

There are many pretty coastal villages with interesting harbours. Inland is the county “capital” Haddington the market town, with its bustling main street.

North Berwick is only 5 miles along the coast and boasts the award winning Scottish Seabird Centre.

An of course Gullane and surrounding towns and villages are just a short distance from Edinburgh.
